Catching Elephant is a theme by Andy Taylor
This is my favorite poem. It was written by Friedrich Schiller a very famous German poet whose name might be familiar, because he also wrote the famous “Ode the Joy”. This poem, called “Die Bürgschaft” (German The Hostage) is one that a lot of people had to learn in elementary school and its theme is friendship.
So here both the German original and a translation to English by an anonymous author. Enjoy! :)
Today I got what first appeared to be spam.
It took a while until I recognized it as a form of poetry. I had to change markup, punctuation and capitalization a bit, to make the hidden poetic soul visible, but here it is:
Satellite over abstraction
Feels nagging remorse
And alchemist for apartment
Building fall in love with cargo
Bay toward. Squid laugh
And drink all night
With near bodice ripper
SophiaAlthough somewhat soothed
By toward umbrella and wedding dress of
Still play pinochle with her from near cup
Can be kind to her boy from with earring behind
Isn’t it beautiful? One can virtually feel the tormented soul of this unknown artist.

Those glassy, red eyes I can’t forget
Remind me of what I must regret
I should have known this all along
For what I have done was wrong
